This Privacy Policy (this "Policy") is issued by The African Circuit ("The African Circuit," "we," "us," or "our") and describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain and protect information in connection with theafricancircuit.com (the "Site") and our related conferences, roundtables, research publications and membership network (together, the "Services").

This Policy applies to visitors to the Site, subscribers to our communications, prospective and confirmed delegates, speakers, partners and members (each, a "User," and collectively, "Users"). By accessing or using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

2.Definitions

"Personal Data" means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. "Processing" means any operation performed on Personal Data, including collection, storage, use, disclosure and erasure. "Third-Party Platform" means any website, application or service operated by a party other than The African Circuit, including but not limited to LinkedIn Events, through which a User may register interest in or attend a Circuit edition.

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Contact information, including name and email address, submitted via our newsletter subscription or "Get Notified" forms;
• Correspondence you send us regarding membership, partnership, sponsorship, speaking opportunities or general enquiries;
• Information you submit when registering interest in a Circuit edition, including where such registration is facilitated through a Third-Party Platform.

3.2 Information We Do Not Directly Process

We do not directly process conference registration, ticketing or payment data on the Site. Registration for our events is currently facilitated through Third-Party Platforms, which maintain their own privacy practices governing any information you submit to them. We encourage you to review the applicable third party's privacy policy before submitting information through it.

3.3 Automatically Collected Information

We may collect limited technical information necessary for the Site to function correctly, such as browser type and general usage patterns, through cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 10.

4.Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis for Processing, we rely on one or more of the following: (a) your consent, such as when you subscribe to our newsletter; (b) our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Services, provided such interests are not overridden by your rights; (c) the necessity of Processing to respond to your enquiries or take steps prior to entering into an arrangement with you; and (d) compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject.

5.How We Use Information

We use the information described in Section 3 to: (a) send newsletters, programme updates and announcements you have requested; (b) respond to enquiries regarding membership, partnership, sponsorship or speaking; (c) administer and improve the Site and the Services; and (d) meet applicable legal, regulatory or compliance obligations. We do not sell or rent Personal Data to third parties.

6.Disclosure of Information

We may disclose Personal Data to: (a) service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as email delivery, subject to obligations of confidentiality; (b) professional advisers, including legal, financial and other consultants, where necessary; (c) regulatory or governmental authorities, where required by applicable law or legal process; and (d) a successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition or restructuring of The African Circuit or its affiliated ecosystem.

The Site may use strictly necessary cookies required for standard site functionality. We do not currently deploy third-party advertising or behavioural tracking cookies. Should this change, we will update this Policy accordingly.

12.Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for institutional professionals and are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us so we may take appropriate action.

13.Third-Party Websites

The Site contains links to Third-Party Platforms, including LinkedIn Events and various social media channels. This Policy does not apply to, and we are not responsible for, the privacy practices of any third party. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of each third-party service before providing any Personal Data to it.
